Episode 6: My Life Sucks!

Before they go to sleep, Lalchand suggests to Shobha that they join their two beds together and 'bless' the house. Shobha balks at the idea, switches off the light and goes to sleep. Lalchand goes to the computer and types in Google "desi babes" and ends up coming across a picture of a transsexual. Infuriated, he storms back into the bedroom, demanding an explanation for the sexless night.

Shobha takes him outside and they have an argument. She vents her emotions about him losing his construction job and the sexual harassment case. He vehemently denies that it ever happened.

Little did they know that Devika was eavesdropping on the argument. She claps her palms against her ears and stamps her feet. Frustrated and distressed, she decides to run away from home. She makes her way to a nearby park and lies on the grass. She gazes at the stars and reminisces about happier times.

Devika hears breathing behind her. She did not care if there were criminals and pipers lurking in the bushes... She wanted to die. They were welcome to rape and murder her. She gets up and turns around only to realise that it was the ghost of Trinidadian ex-politician Basdeo Panday. They talk for a little while and he tells her about the time he ran away from home, when the PNM party beat the UNC in 2001 general elections. He also talks about the time he spent in jail. "They try to lock me up," he says, "But they were only going to arrest a man... not an idea..."

He convinces Devika to return home. But she cannot sleep. She logs onto her Facebook and decides to post a status, "Basdeo Panday has shown me the light." She then Googles images of Che Guevara and makes a couple correction-edits on Wikipedia.
