Artee looks at herself in the mirror and is horrified by what she sees. Ugliness, she thinks. All the bad memories come rushing back. She thinks back on her string of broken relationships and flings. She quivers and almost breaks down and cries. She thinks back to the asshole she slept with from the pub, and spits on her reflection. She no longer wanted to be "ugly". She wanted to be "the good girl" from now on.
She ties her hair into a ponytail and strips to her undergarments. She opens the cupboard. Without thinking, she pieces together a new look for her.
A few minutes later, in the kitchen, Avinash licks his lips and approaches a girl standing by the counter. Artee's friend, he probably thinks. Fair game. He's going to give her some lyrics regardless.
"Gyul," he says, "I want to build a house for yuh."
"Why?" the girl asks.
"Because the amount of wood I go ress on yuh, I might as well." Avinash smirks.
"Avinash..." she says, "Is me... Artee."
