Episode 25: Hoping, Waiting

Lalchand is astonished to see his two daughters' new fashion styles and appearances. It is then he realises he hadn't talked to them or paid any attention to them for almost a whole month... though neither of them care at this point.

Devika is excited to go to the park. She hopes that the boy will turn up.

She takes a seat at the chess tables and waits for a very long time... looking out for him. But he doesn't show up. She goes to the swings and dangles on it. She notices a scantily-clad white woman next to her swinging high with a smile on her face. This woman probably just had great sex, Devika thinks.

Night comes and the boy hasn't shown... Devika sighs heavily. She goes home disappointed. But not all is lost. It is only then she realises how attracted she is to the boy. But she has her doubts about love... It is hard for her to deal with this type of crushing disappointment.

BUT EARLIER THAT DAY...

Ricky had decided to give himself a makeover. He heads to the bathroom with his shaving set and scissors. He gives his 'locks a trim, and shaves his face clean. He then carefully applies cake-soap to his face, thinking it would make him look more appealing. He is pleased with his new look. He hopes... she will be too...

He decides to dress "more appropriately" so he won't come off too 'ghetto'. He heads to the park and to the chess tables... He looks around, but doesn't see her. His heart sinks.

He heads to the benches...

...and then to the swings... She is nowhere to be found...

Nightfall comes and she still hasn't turned up. He is disappointed and even though there is a nagging feeling that it just wasn't meant to be... he realises that the absence.. had only made his heart fonder.
